The problem

What are dust mites and why do they live in your mattress?

Dust mites are microscopic arachnids that feed on the skin flakes we shed every night. A mattress gives them everything they need: warmth, moisture, and a constant food supply. They don't bite, but their droppings and body fragments trigger allergic reactions in many people.

Each person sheds about 1.5 grams of dead skin per night, enough to feed thousands of mites
Mites prefer environments between 20-25°C with humidity above 50%, exactly bedroom conditions
Vacuuming the mattress surface doesn't eliminate them, they live inside the fiber
Anti-mite covers reduce exposure but don't kill the ones already inside
A mattress over 2 years old without professional cleaning has a very high mite population
When you need it

How to know if dust mites are affecting you

Dust mites are invisible to the naked eye. But the symptoms aren't. If you recognize several of these, the mites in your mattress may be the cause.

You wake up with nasal congestion or sneezing that improves during the day
You have itchy eyes or skin when you get up
Your allergies get worse at night or when lying down
The mattress hasn't had professional cleaning in over 2 years
There's high humidity in the bedroom (>60%)
A doctor has diagnosed you with dust mite allergy
How it works

How we treat dust mites

Real elimination, not just surface level

1

Deep vacuuming

With an industrial high-suction vacuum, we extract the first layer of dust, dead mites, and debris accumulated on the surface and seams.

2

Acaricide treatment

We apply biodegradable acaricide that penetrates inside the mattress. It kills live mites and neutralizes their allergens (droppings and body fragments).

3

Wash and extraction

With injection-extraction we remove dead mites, their remains, and all accumulated dirt. The mattress is sanitized from the inside, with a drastic reduction in allergens.

Why professional

Why isn't vacuuming and changing sheets enough?

Vacuuming the surface removes dust but doesn't reach mites living inside the mattress fiber
Washing sheets at 60°C kills mites on the sheets, but not in the mattress
Anti-mite covers prevent allergens from reaching you but don't kill the mites already inside
Only acaricide treatment + professional extraction actually reduces the interior mite population
After professional cleaning, allergen levels drop drastically, measurable with guanine test
The result

What results to expect

Over 90% reduction in mite population after treatment
Drastic decrease in allergens (droppings and remains) measurable with testing
Allergy sufferers notice improvement in nasal congestion and sleep quality from the first night
The mattress looks visibly cleaner, dark water comes out even from mattresses that look clean
The effect lasts 4-8 months depending on ambient humidity and use
Combined with an anti-mite cover, results last significantly longer

What you should know

Eliminating 100% of mites from a mattress isn't possible, they'll return with normal use. What we do is reduce the population and allergens to very low levels. For allergy sufferers, this makes a clear difference in sleep quality. To maintain the effect, we recommend treatment every 6-12 months.

FAQ

FAQ about mattress dust mites

Do dust mites bite?
No. Dust mites don't bite or sting. What causes reactions (sneezing, itching, congestion) are their droppings and body fragments, which are potent allergens. If you have bites, it may be a different problem (bed bugs, for example).
How often should the mattress be treated?
For people without allergies, once a year is sufficient. If you have dust mite allergy, every 6 months. The goal is to keep the population low, not eliminate them forever, that isn't realistic.
Does putting the mattress in the sun help?
It temporarily reduces surface moisture, which slightly slows reproduction. But it doesn't kill the ones inside or remove accumulated allergens. It's a complement, not a solution.
Do anti-mite covers work?
Yes, as a barrier. They prevent allergens from inside the mattress from reaching you while you sleep. But they don't kill mites already inside. Ideally, clean the mattress first and then put the cover on.
Can the mattress be used the same day?
Yes. The mattress takes between 4 and 6 hours to dry completely. If we treat it in the morning, you can sleep on it that night.
Do new mattresses have dust mites?
Not initially. But within a few weeks they start colonizing it. A 3-month-old mattress already has a significant population. The first professional cleaning makes sense after the first year of use.
