The problem

A mop does not clean parquet, it wears it out

A wooden floor mopped every week with water and a supermarket cleaner ends up grey, with a film that traps dirt and dark joints between the boards. Water gets into the joints, the edges swell and the finish loses its protection. A deep parquet clean removes that film and gives back the protection the wood has lost.

Too much water lifts the board edges and darkens the joints
All-purpose cleaners leave a film that turns grey with foot traffic
An oiled floor without fresh oil dries out and soaks up every stain
Marks from chairs, shoes and plant pots do not come off with a mop
When you need it

When to book a wooden floor clean

It usually comes at a moment when the floor has to look presentable again.

When moving into a rented flat or before handing it back
After a renovation, when the parquet sat under plastic and dust
In a shop, office or practice with a busy wooden floor
When the floor looks dull even though it is mopped every week
Before selling or showing a home
How it works

How we do a deep parquet clean

Dry first, then with as little water as possible, and the protection last.

1

Test on a hidden spot

First we test the cleaner in a corner nobody sees, under a piece of furniture or behind a door, to see how your finish reacts.

2

Dust out, dry

We vacuum boards, joints and skirting. Sand and dust left on the floor scratch the finish as soon as a damp cloth goes over it.

3

Wood cleaner, little water

We clean with a product made for wood and a barely damp cloth, section by section, and treat stubborn marks from chairs, shoes and spills by hand.

4

Protection to suit the finish

An oiled floor is always re-oiled in the same visit, it is part of a deep clean of wood. A varnished floor gets a maintainer suited to varnish.

What we do not do

We do not sand, we do not strip and we do not varnish. That is work for a carpenter or floor specialist. If the video shows wear that already goes through the finish, with grey, bare wood on the walkways, we tell you in the quote: cleaning is not enough there and the floor needs sanding. Stains that have gone into the wood, such as standing water or pet urine, often lighten but do not always disappear.

Pricing

What the price depends on

You get a fixed price per job, never per hour. To work it out, a short video of the floor and the square metres are enough.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does professional parquet cleaning include?
Vacuuming boards and joints, cleaning with a wood product and little water, treating marks, and the final protection: fresh oil if the floor is oiled, a maintainer if it is varnished.
Why do you always re-oil an oiled floor?
Because a deep clean also lifts some of the old oil. Without fresh oil the wood is left dry and soaks up the next stain. That is why it always happens in the same visit.
When can I walk on the floor again?
After the clean, soon and in socks. If we have oiled, we tell you how long to wait before putting furniture and rugs back, depending on the oil and the ventilation.
Do you sand or varnish parquet?
No. A carpenter or floor specialist does that. If we see your floor needs it, we tell you clearly before doing anything.
What do you need to give me a price?
A short video of the floor, ideally in daylight with a few close-ups of the marks, and the square metres. We email you a fixed price within 2 hours.
Do you work across the Madrid region?
We work in Madrid and its municipalities, in homes, offices and shops.

Has your parquet lost its colour?

Send us a short video of the floor and the square metres. We email you a fixed price within 2 hours.
