The problem

Has your marble floor gone matt with traffic marks?

Marble and terrazzo lose their shine through abrasion, not dirt. Mopping does not bring it back because the problem is the worn surface itself. Polishing and crystallisation restore the original shine working on the floor you already have, with no building work and no replacement.

What does it cost?

Polishing is priced per square metre. Prior grinding adds cost where the floor has deep marks, because it needs more passes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between polishing and crystallising?
Polishing removes the worn surface layer with abrasives. Crystallising hardens and brings shine to that levelled surface. A heavily marked floor needs both.
Does the floor have to be lifted?
No. We work on the existing floor, with no building work and nothing replaced. That is precisely why it is worth doing.
Can the floor be used afterwards?
Yes, almost straight away. We work zone by zone so access is never completely cut off.
Is it suitable for a communal entrance hall?
Yes, that is one of the most common uses. Entrance terrazzo is the first thing people see and takes the most traffic.
How often does it need repeating?
A properly done crystallisation lasts years in a home. In an entrance hall or a busy commercial unit an annual maintenance pass is worthwhile.
What does floor polishing cost?
It is priced per square metre by material and condition. Send us a photo and you will have it by email within 2 hours.
